Here’s an interesting post on the freakenomics.com blog. Apparently many people click on the ads on many websites as a way to tip the creator of the site. Would Google consider this fraud?

Hehe. I’m definitely a tipper. I don’t do it all the time, but I try to do it some. At least when I find a new blog I like or a post that particularly speaks to me, I try to click an ad.
I would say this: we should all be careful talking about things like this, since Google (and other advertisers) is pretty vigilant about click-fraud. I’m not sure if they would classify tipping as fraud, but they might.
One thing I have seen on some blogs is a “tip jar.” Steve Pavlina asks for donations. I think these are great ideas. I personally have never donated, but I might in the future.
Never. I think ads are really annoying and I go to great pains to make sure I don’t click on them. Maybe if you get no ad revenue you’ll take them down.
Disclaimer: I never watch anything on TV unless it’s been TiVoed. Cannot stand commercials.
