I apologize for the lack of posts this week, but I came down with some weird infection and wound up in the hospital Wednesday. During my lovely stay at the hospital I had the pleasure in having a spinal tap done. I was so out of it, I don’t remember it hurting too much. Thankfully, the spinal tap showed that I didn’t have meningitis, which would have been horrible.

Anyway, I got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon. I’m still feeling… blah. It might be awhile before I start posting regularly again because I have to play some catch up at school. So, please be patient. During my recovery time, why not check out my archive pages?

To be fair: it’s a lumbar puncture and collection. A spinal tap, technically, would be where they left something in your back and had an on/off switch. I know exactly how this felt. But I had to have it done twice, eventually with a 5 inch needle. Not fun. Did they tell you to drink plenty of caffeine? That was my favorite part.

    Dan-
You are correct. What I had was a lumbar puncture and collection. It’s just more fun to say you had a spinal tap because the image it creates in people’s mind: a huge needle being stuck in your spine. Plus, I wouldn’t have been able to use the cool This Is Spinal Tap picture.

They didn’t tell me to drink lots of caffeine. They wouldn’t have had to seeing how I’m a Diet Mt. Dew fiend.

I noticed on your blog, you go to BYU. How’s the “zoo” treating you? My wife graduated from there. I opted out of the BYU route and stayed in Oklahoma. Sooner born and sooner bred.
