I

If the lockers and bringing your lunch in a sack wasn’t enough, then the Student Bar Association elections has really brought law school back to high school. When I walked into school the other day, the walls were covered with homemade campaign posters for SBA delegates. It really creeped me out to seeing pictures of grown adults photoshoped pictures with Will Ferrel in order to promote themselves.

I was really big in to the Student Council thing when I was in High School and honestly thought I left those days behind when I graduated. I guess I was wrong. Somebody save me from law school/high school!

Had to laugh, because I could see your expression when you saw all the posters.

Hahaha. I had a similar revelation last week. Last weekend was the annual UVA Law softball invitational. On Thursday, the members of our softball teams came to class wearing actual softball jerseys. Can anyone say high school athletics?

    Take care,
    Andrew

I think it was the raging gossip and clusters of people in the hallways that killed me. Everyone knew everyone else’s business and they were not afraid to talk about it High school de ja vu!

You are the best, frugal law student…
I would also add that besides using a locker, and gossiping about others in the lunch room, the whole obsession about the law school “prom” perplexes me. Dear God, I left high school thirty years ago; I cannot imagine anything more unappealing than going to some rented hall, dressed in a rented suit, where the school has set up an open bar (not that that would deter the students from drinking themselves into oblivion), and attempting to talk to anyone.
Am I an incorrigible old fogey? I guess so…which is why I wonder daily why I am not in an evening law school program where I might well find more of my peers, than in the day program, where the majority of the students are fresh out of undergrad.
